The Dola Basu Foundation (DBF) was established to honor the memory of Dola Basu, a homemaker who touched many lives with her kindness, strength, and dedication to the values she held dear. Our mission is to carry forward her legacy by supporting causes that align with her life’s principles—promoting cultural heritage through music, empowering MSMEs, and improving water and waste management systems. Join us as we work with like-minded organizations and volunteers to create a positive impact on society.
YEARS OF CARE
The Dola Basu Foundation was founded in memory of Dola Basu, who was born and raised in Shillong, Meghalaya. After her untimely passing on October 20, 2020, her husband Tilak Basu, along with Rina Paul and Kesav Mishra, decided to start this foundation to keep her values and spirit alive. DBF focuses on promoting classical and folk music, providing training and consultancy to MSMEs, and developing sustainable water and wastewater systems. We have built partnerships with various NGOs and societies to extend our reach and impact.
To preserve Dola Basu’s legacy by promoting music, empowering MSMEs, and advancing sustainable water solutions.
Guided by compassion, empowerment, and sustainability, we work with integrity and collaboration.
A future where cultural heritage thrives, small businesses grow, and communities access clean water.
